Kiln opening 1 13
Yesterday the kiln was unloaded .... very exciting .... as always!
This time a few pots had been made with mixed clays. The results are very nice and further mixes will follow. All pots will be shown in detail in a later post.
The glaze tests were awesome.
Klaudia has formulated some new recipes and the results are very very promissing!

The "quicktest" ... an ashglaze ... very surprising!
Loading the kiln 1 13
After a long time the kiln was loaded today.
This time only dark stone-surface pots will be fired.
Together with the pots 40 tiles with glazetests and a few "quicktests" were placed in the kiln.
We can't wait to open the kiln in a few days.
"Sir yes Sir...."
Our little glaze-soldiers.

Rare Ashes ..........
Last weekend we managed to burn all the stuff we had collected last year.
It was dry enough now and so the "cooking" worked very well.
We have burned a few rare things and are totally exited now to formulate new glazes.
It's great fun and very satisfying to explore new materials.
The setup is quite simple. All you need is a gas burner, a self made wire basket and something to get some space underneath it so that the ash can fall down.
